ARTIST: MARY GOLAY (1869-1944) SIZE: 15 3/8 x 38 3/8 in./39.2 x 97.6 cm DESCRIPTION: A sunny sunflower girl has a notion: a particularly buoyant one, it seems, as she's surrounded with a halo of songbirds. Mary Golay created dozens of decorative art panels, often with Eastern or Indian motifs. This one, however, celebrates the joys of springtime in a Mucha-esque way, but adding a bit of whimsy and mischievousness to his iconographic religiosity. (Art Nouveau)
