TRIPOLI Travel Poster (24.5" x 39") ; Very Fine- Rolled ENIT, c.1930 Created to promote the beautiful Italian city of Tripoli, billed as "The North Africa Winter Resort," this poster is rolled in excellent condition and shows border pinholes and small, scattered creases. The bottom border displays a horizontal fold (presumably to fit the poster inside a frame) with small tears, nicks, chips, and stains. The design and typography evoke the vintage glamour that this resort offered tourists. Printed in Italy by ENIT, The Italian National Tourist Board. ENIT was founded in 1919 with the mission of promoting Italy as a travel destination. The ENIT Italian travel posters were printed in collaboration with the Ferrovie dello Stato (the Italian railway system). This lot will be auctioned on Friday, March 6th.
