ROCKEFELLER CENTER Travel Poster (27" x 40") ; Fine+ Rolled; Artwork by Leslie Ragan 1936 Depicting a beautiful period image of New York City's famous skyscraper and commercial complex, this poster is rolled and shows a tide stain above the lower-right corner, with several small tears within the stain. Several edge tears extending into the image area were stabilized with cellophane tape on the back, and a small portion of the upper and lower borders was folded back, resulting in small edge tears. Rockefeller Center is a 22-acre Midtown Manhattan complex of 19 commercial buildings, originally 14 Art Deco structures developed by the Rockefeller family between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, centered around a sunken plaza and Rockefeller Plaza roadway. Later expansions include 75 Rockefeller Plaza and four International Style buildings along Sixth Avenue. This lot will be auctioned on Friday, March 6th.
