OUR GANG: SUNDAY CALM Three Sheet (41" x 79"); Stone Lithograph ; Very Fine- on Linen Pathe, 1923 From producer Hal Roach's extremely popular "Our Gang" series is this beautiful three sheet poster depicting Joe Cobb, Jackie Condon, Ernest Morrison, Allen "Farina" Hoskins, and Jack Davis taking a Sunday drive in a makeshift wagon. Printed on three panels and folded in excellent condition, this example was professionally linen-backed with only very minimal touch-up to a few portions of the folds to address general fold wear, and the borders have sporadic airbrushing to correct light edge wear and small chips. The linen has been trimmed to the edges of the poster. This charming poster evokes the magic and uninhibited happiness of childhood from days gone by. "Sunday Calm" is a silent short comedy directed by Robert F. McGowan and was the twentieth entry in the "Our Gang" series. This lot will be auctioned on Friday, March 6th.
