LAW OF THE RIO GRANDE One Sheet (27" x 41"); Stone Lithograph ; Very Fine- on Linen Syndicate Film Exchange, 1931 The popular Western star Bob Custer appears twice in stone lithography on this beautiful silent Western one sheet. Professionally linen-backed, this example has expert touch-up to portions of the folds to address some wear, with spot touch-up to a few small areas in the hat. The bottom two panels showed more wear; touch-up corrected small tears with creases around them and a tiny area of paper loss, while the borders were airbrushed to correct chips and small tears. This poster is even more beautiful when viewed in person and features superb imagery of this classic Western star. Bob Custer was a film actor best known for starring in Westerns. Between 1924 and 1937, he appeared in more than 50 films, including "The Fighting Hombre," "Arizona Days," "The Last Roundup" and "The Oklahoma Kid." Credited as "Raymond Glenn," he also acted in non-Western roles such as "The Return of Boston Blackie" (1927). Custer adopted his stage name in 1924 while working for Films Booking Office, formed Bob Custer Production in 1927, and starred in 20 Westerns for Syndicate between 1928 and 1931.
