DESCRIPTION: Viktor Shvaiko (Russian, B. 1965). Restaurant La Ruche / Castle by the Water. Serigraph on white wove paper. Signed, lower right and numbered 25/60, lower left. Depicts a café in France called La Ruche. In an off-white linen and red trimmed mat with a gold leaf frame and glazed. Shvaiko knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue art as a career and attended the Specialized School of Art in Russia. After graduating he went on to become an artist for the army and then held other jobs before deciding to pursue art alone and fled to Italy through Yugoslavia. He is best known for his café scenes in Europe. MEASUREMENTS: 21" x 29-7/8". Overall with frame 35" x 43-1/4". CONDITION: No defects noted.
