DESCRIPTION: Johannes Gerardus Keulemans (Dutch, 1842-1912). Circa 1896. Four hand colored lithographs on off-white wove paper from the A Monograph of the Lories series. Includes: 1) The Insular Lory, Plate XII. 2) The Solitary Lory, Plate XXV. 3) Josephine's Lory, Plate LIX. 4) The Half-Masked Lory, Plate X. Each marked with plate number, upper right and titled with inscription in print, lower center. In an off-white mat with a red frame and glazed. From 1870 to 1910 Keulemans was considered the most sought after bird artist in Europe. MEASUREMENTS: Each print on paper size measuring approximately 12-3/8" x 10". Overall with frame 19" x 47-5/8". CONDITION: Some mat and tape burn as prints are taped to mat board.
