Alexander Dobkin (1908 - 1975), lithograph, assumed title: Rey Marcel Was Shot Here", depicting an image of Rey Marcel standing in front of the plaque erected to commemorate where the French Resistance soldier was shot by the German Nazis. Signed by the artist in graphite, numbered 7 of 50 examples on paper, framed 25 1/2h x 21 1/4"w. c. 1950 today his original paintings and lithographs are included in the following collections; the Butler Art Institute, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Tel Aviv Museum, Israel, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institute.
