Jenny Holzer Jenny Holzer was born in July 1950 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Holzer studied drawing and printmaking at the Ohio University, where she graduated 1972 and completed 1977 her studies with a master degree at the Rhode Iceland School of Design. In this year she also began using the font and the text as a medium of her art. Holzer presents the realization of ideas in public space in the center of her creative process. Thus, street posters, LED lights, benches, stickers, clothing and the internet are part of her works. In the early 1990s she chose to use a garden in Nordhorn to create an 'anti- memorial' against war and National Socialism.
