Presented is a signed plate proof portrait by Albert Rosenthal. The portrait of Geogre Washington is modeled after a painting by Charles Willson Peale. Rosenthal has signed in pencil at the lower right of the image. "No. 8" is written in pencil below a scroll with "Articles of Capitulation...Oct. 19th 1781." Peale's facsimile signature is at lower left of the image.
