Lily wreath with two jewels, below the garden of the Castle of Ruel, "La Dragon qui se void dans le jardin de Ruel " Engraving made by Balthasar Moncornet (1600-1668) ca 1665 in Paris, after François Lefebvre. From a very rare series of 12 engravings of jewelry designs: "Livre Nouveau de toutes sortes d'ouvrages d'Orfevries receuillies des Maylleurs ouvriers de ce temps". References : Orn Cat II 1755. The jewels are designs for brooches in Brandenburg style. These engravings were made as designing jewelry for goldsmiths and enamellers. The edition with the numbers engraved. Good dark impression on thin laid paper with large margins. Some traces of aging not disturbing.
