This etching from circa 1673-1695 is a rare early state before the name of Perelle and before the publishers address of Drevet. It does have the inscription P Bril onvent engraved in text line. See also the many scratches typical for a very early impression. The design for this etching by Nicolas Perelle (1631-1695) is taken from a series of thirty-six plates by Willem van Nieulandt (Hollstein 76-111) showing Italian landscapes drawn by Paul Bril (1553-1626).
