Joe (Joseph John) Jones (Missouri, 1909-1963) Harvest/Pitching Hay Circa 1939 The lithograph, published by Associated American Artists in an edition of 250 prints, is signed by Joe Jones in pencil below the image lower right and incorrectly titled HARVEST lower left, most likely in a different hand. The Associated American Artists catalogs confirm the correct title of this image is Pitching Hay. It is worth noting that this image very closely resembles the New Deal mural Joe Jones painted in the Charleston, Missouri post office in 1939 for the Treasury Department's Section of Painting and Sculpture. Image measures 8.5 x 13.75, sheet is 11.5 x 16.75, and frame is 18.5 x 24 inches.
