Cased pair of sea captain's of pistols by R. Scott having spring loaded bayonets with percussion firing mechanisms. Housed in the original mahogany box with oak bottom and green dyed wool lining. It retains the original key and working lock mechanism. Each pistol is engraved, stamped on the octagon barrels R. Scott, 24 Margaret St., Cavendish Sq(ua)re, London. Each has checkered walnut grips and silver escutcheons inlaid on the back straps. Butt caps are hinged. proof marks on barrel. Overall pistol length 8.5". Barrel length 4.25" Length with bayonet extended 12.75".
