SN. 354765. Cal. 16ga. Built with 28" fluid steel brls that have matted top rib with small brass front bead. Breech ends of brls with small ring of engraving. Polished flats with SN, grade stamp "4", and choke stamps "4". Walnut splinter forend with triangular ebony tip is wave border panel checkered with engraved push button release and iron. Casehardened boxlock receiver is very nicely floral scroll and game scene engraved with flying duck on left, standing pheasant on right. Bottom of frame and trigger plate are nicely floral scroll engraved as is the blued trigger guard on bow with SN at rear of tang. Gun made with double gold plated triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Nicely figured capped pistol grip American walnut buttstock is fleur-de-lis checkered through the wrist, has engraved gold shield on toeline, and terminates with its original Ithaca Gun Co. HRBP. Gold shield on toeline is factory engraved "L.H. SEARING/FROM/FINGER LAKES/ASSN. 1925". This important gun is featured in a full length DGJ article by Ithaca historian Walt Snyder in Volume 24 Issue 3 outlining the history of this important gun. Leonard H. Searing served as a judge from 1941-1954. Searing was the founding President of the Finger Lakes Association which was and still is an active nonprofit working to develop tourism and economic growth in the Finger Lakes region.
