SN. 267885. Cal. 28ga. Built with 26" Krupp fluid steel brls that have matted top rib with brass front bead. Top of brls engraved "KRUPP FLUID STEEL". Polished flats with SN. Right flat stamped "0". Left flat stamped "4". Splinter forend with triangular ebony tip is panel and wave border checkered with engraved push button release and iron. Casehardened boxlock receiver is very nicely floral and game scene engraved with flying duck on left, standing pheasant on right. Bottom of frame with vine floral scroll. Blued trigger guard engraved on bow with SN at rear of tang. Gun made with gold plated double triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Nicely flame figured capped pistol grip American walnut buttstock is fleur-de-lis checkered through the wrist, has gold shield engraved "LB" on toeline, and terminates with a professionally fit Ithaca Gun Co. HRBP. Accompanied a Cody Firearms research look up identifying this gun as a Grade 4 28ga built with 26" brls built for D.J. Treat with a production date of December 1915. WEIGHT: 5lbs. 3oz. Cham.
