SN. 20884. Cal. 28ga. Originally built as a 16ga gun with 26" fine damascus brls that have matted concave top rib with white front bead. Brls now with permanent 28ga inserts and have their original engraving at breech ends with carved butterfly wings. Splinter forend checkered in point pattern with engraved steel tip, Spaniel Bakelite escutcheon, and engraved iron. Interior of iron with engraved screws. Receiver and locks are beautifully engraved with game scenes in ovals on sides surrounded by scroll with maker's name engraved towards front of locks. Bottom of frame with flourishes of scroll and engraved on the carved wings. Brl fences are relief carved with clovers and arcades. Casehardened trigger guard with Spaniel retrieving bird in oval on bow surrounded by scroll and SN towards rear portion of the long tang. Gun made with gold plated double triggers, auto ejectors, cocking indicators, non-auto safety. Locks are stepped and engraved at rear. Very nicely figured capped pistol grip walnut buttstock with carved teardrops behind locks, is checkered in point pattern through the wrist with fine wave border pattern aft of grip, has gold colored shield on toeline, Monte Carlo, and terminates with a small Silvers type pad with extra spacers. WEIGHT: 6lbs. 9oz.
