Rare Chinese vase of globular shape in blue and white porcelain decorated with characters in a landscape, Transition epoch (around 1640-1660)Porcelain-shaped globular vase with cobalt decoration under cover, representing an animated narrative scene in a vast lake and mountainous landscape. Several characters dressed in the manner of the court appear in procession, preceded by serviceEurs holding banners and fans, under a canoped banner, while other figures, including dignitaries and warriors, stand near pavilions or walk among stylized pines and rocks. The whole decor is treated with fiNesse and precision in an intense palette of cobalt blue. The upper register is underlined with a double blue net, the non-marquee base has a glacure-free evase heel.
