작품 상세

Dimensions: Height 26,5 cm Wide 22,5 cm Depth 9,5 cm Weight: 3246 grams Cast in bronze and originally fire-gilt, the powerful bodhisattva shown in a dynamic pratyalīḍha stance, his legs braced wide upon a beaded lotus base. Vajrapāṇi is depicted with a fierce expression, bulging eyes and a slightly open mouth, crowned by a foliate diadem surmounted by a flaming hair arrangement. The right hand is raised holding a vajra, while the left hand grasps a ghanta, the arms animated by looping scarves and snake ornaments. He wears a beaded necklace, armlets, anklets, and a tiger-skin garment tied around the waist, all finely detailed with cold-worked accents. The bronze surface shows extensive ritual wear with remnants of original fire gilding, now largely abraded, and a naturally developed patina consistent with age and devotional handling. The oval base is sealed underneath with a metal plate engraved with a double vajra (viśvavajra), a traditional Tibetan consecration motif.
