Chinese Export Porcelain Blue and White Chestnut Basket, Qianlong, 1745-1780. Painted in underglaze-blue on the interior with a view of a magnolia tree, large rock and flowering peonies within a double scroll border, the reticulated sides interrupted by roundels of butterflies and the rim surrounded by a cell-diaper and scroll band, the exterior sides painted with fish-roe and matching roundels within flowerhead trellis diaperwork borders, affixed with divided scroll handles. H: 3 in., L: 12.125 in. (over handles), W: 9.25 in. Provenance: Property from a North Shore, Massachusetts Collection.
