Rare Chinese Export Porcelain 'Adam and Eve' Dish, 1740-45. Painted in sepia and iron-red with a view of Eve handing the apple to Adam, both seated in a stony landscape with a dog in the foreground, an elephant climbing down a rocky hill on the left and herd of deer in the distance, all beneath a serpent coiled around the trunk of the tree, the rim surrounded by a rouge de fer scrolling vine and lotus border.
