Chinese Wucai Large Jar and Cover, Qing. Of high-shouldered tapered form, painted around the jar in underglaze-blue and overglaze iron-red, green, yellow and purple enamels with squirrels frolicking amongst berried branches, the shoulders surrounded by a 'cracked ice' border and the neck with green, blue and iron-red lappets, the cover with matching rockwork and branches and fitted with a large cork, the base unglazed.
