Alfonso Ossorio St. Maria Goretti Created in 1950 while Ossorio was visiting his family’s sugarcane factory in Victorias, Negros Occidental, St. Maria Goretti was one of some 300 paintings collectively known as the artist’s Victorias Paintings. This particular work showcases a primitivism of subject, an all-over composition of expressionist line and one of the artist’s most enduring preoccupations - the assimilation of the interior and exterior elements of human form onto one image.  1950 43 x 28 cm (17 x 11 in) Wax and watercolor
