A QAJAR LACQUERED PAPIER-MÂCHÉ PEN CASE (QALAMDAN) Iran, late 19th century With rounded ends and a sliding tray, polychrome-painted and lacquered, the top and sides decorated with Qajar tronie figures of maidens with children and babies, several cartouches featuring an elderly man, possibly a reference to Sheikh Sanan, the inner tray and underside with gold vegetal scrollwork against a bright red ground. 23.5cm long Qty: (2)
