Amritzar carpet, North India, late 19th ct., 320 x 270 cm. The very fine weave supports the gracile and complex border ornamentation, that displays stylized leafs alternating with archaic ornamentations. The red background color center field is decorated with few stylised, elegant vase motifs and rosett ornaments.
