2nd - 3rd century AD A Gandharan finely carved grey schist head of a wise man. The wide face has a serene expression, and elongated ears, and is finished with hair tied in a Ushnisha knot. Size: 260mm x 150mm; Weight: 7.64kg. Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in a Japanese collection acquired before 2003. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
