Born into a samurai family, he was initially trained in various artistic styles, including KanÅ and Ukiyo-e, but he later devoted himself to the revival of the Rinpa style, originally founded by Ogata KÅrin. HÅitsu is best known for his elegant and refined works that often featured nature themes, such as flowers, birds, and seasonal landscapes. His masterpiece, "Summer and Autumn Grasses," exemplifies his skill in delicate brushwork and harmonious composition.
