The Chet Helms Memorial poster was created by Alton Kelley (1940-2008) for Chet?s memorial concert service that was held at the Maritime Hall in San Francisco, California. April 30, 1994 and displayed at the Grateful Dead office in San Rafael. Chet was the founder of the Family Dog production company who hosted concerts at the Avalon Ballroom, and members of Credence Clearwater Revival, Big Brother, Gregg Allman, Peter Tork of the Monkeys, the Doobie Brothers, New Riders, Lee Michaels, Country Joe, Dan Hicks, Wavy Gravy, Peter Coyote and many more showed up to honor him.
