The modeled surface of the small bronze, which is in contrast to the smooth stir stick of the figure, is particularly striking. The founder, fitted with safety glasses, is only roughly shaped and appears like a bozzetto for a larger figure. In his entire work, Hrdlicka consistently maintained a figurative-expressive style of art. A thematic focus in his work was the human figure, which he often sought to capture in its mental bandwidth. The figure bears the carved monogram and the edition number 'AH 20/100" on the right side of the plinth, as well as the foundry stamp A. Zöttl, Vienna, to the underside. The bronze is in good condition, showing minor wear. The height is 11 cm. Alfred Hrdlicka (1928-2009) Alfred Hrdlicka was born in Vienna in 1928.
