Charles DeWolf Brownell born in in Providence, RI, lived in East Hartford, CT, NYC, and Bristol, RI. Known for landscape and still life paintings, with a famous painting of Connecticut Charter Oak. He also spent six years in Europe and seven winters painting Cuban landscapes and flora.
