Sidney Cooper, From Nature, 1838" watercolour h:28 w: 43 cm Other Notes: Kenneth Westwood writes: "From the image supplied, the watercolour appears to have been copied from a lithograph by Cooper, published as Plate 22 of Ackermann's folio "Groups of Cattle, Drawn from Nature" in 1839. Although a faithful copy, probably traced from the original, Cooper would have utlised his original drawing, pre-dating 1839, if he chose to make a watercolour copy. His original drawings on stone, of course, would have been reversed in the printing of the lithograph".
