SOFIA BATTISTI -Il pazzo del paese (The Crazy of the Village). The artist has been inspired by the woodblock ukiyo-e Japanese prints. Battisti is using bright bold colours, collage of paper and Japanese newspapers to create this new body of work. Sofia Battisti artworks symbolise isolation in modern society and the complex relationships between individuals created by the technological world. Battisti transforms the nature in her artworks to an allegorical landscape depicted with bright, pastel colours. In her work Sofia attempts to accommodate complex realities, which reflect contemporary society.
