This lot features an oil on canvas landscape painting by Athur Meltzer. Meltzer (American, 1893 - 1989) painted primarily in Bucks, Montgomery and Berks counties. An extremely versatile artist and craftsman, Meltzer was a master of landscape, still life, and figure painting, as well as making his own custom frames used on both his and his wife’s paintings. He is best known for his sophisticated impressionist landscapes of rural Pennsylvania. Signed lower left register. Measures approx. 24" x 36", with frame 32.5" x 44.5". The auction high for Meltzer is $156,880. This piece comes with a letter from William H. Wright M.F.A stating his belief in the painting's authenticity.
