Me in my Paintings Oil on Wood Signed and titled Verso 18,9 x 14,9 in framed In a tachist manner, Karl Anton Fleck plays on the canvas with intense, coarse traces of color that come together to form a dynamic conglomeration of brushstrokes. The work stands out from his otherwise consistently graphic oeuvre and is one of the few oil works by the artist. Depicted is an alienated and distorted bust of the artist himself, as revealed by the title of the picture. Only by the slightly indicated contours, the figure is lifted from the rest of the picture ground. Coarse, impasto and fine, transparent applications of paint make the picture particularly dynamic and multi-layered. Inscription Verso: "K.A.
