Danel, Paris Founded in 1865, Bonal is a sweet vermouth-like aperitif wine, infused with quinine, gentian, and many of the herbs featured in Chartreuse. Dedicated to its role as a pre-dinner beverage, its motto has always been “open the appetite” -- a slogan which Cassandre most literally depicts in this poster. This is the second version of the image, printed two years after the original.
