[Ships]. Nooms, R. (called Zeeman) (±1623-1667). Dismantled sailing-vessel in a rocky bay. Etching from the series Several sailing-vessels and merchantmen (8 prints incl. title-etching), 1652, 10,5x20,3 cm., "zeeman" in the plate. - Trimmed to the borderline; rubbed in upper margin and upper right corner restored (w. ms. additions); foxed speck in sky and very vague yellow stain on rocks. = Hollstein 94, 1st or 2nd state (the number 7 distinguishing between these states would be below the borderline). AND 3 other etchings of ships: 2 by the same, from diff. series (Hollstein 97 (sl. dam.) and Hollstein 161 (cut short in left margin)) and 1 by F. PLACE (circular, Ø 11 cm., "F: Place: inu: et fe:", "F. de Witt excud." and "6" in the plate below the image).
