A significant pioneer landscape artist, Fung Yow Chork presents an immersive view of mountains in the impressionist style. The artist creates a harmonious balance of green shades, highlighting the soft contours of the trees and terrain. Yow Chork conveys the atmosphere of the landscape and skyline viewed from a distance. Fung Yow Chork is considered one of the finest impressionists in the country. At the age of 13, he was taught by a teacher who had studied Impressionism in Japan. He befriended Professor Chung Pak Mook of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. Some of his solo exhibitions were held at The Art Gallery, Penang (1998), Rupa Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (1983), Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur (1982), Chin Woo Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (1981). He was awarded Second Prize, Merdeka Independence Trade Fair's Art and Photographic Exhibition (1957).
