ARMSTRONG NEIL: (1930- ) American Astronaut, Commander of Apollo XI (1969). The first man to walk on the moon. Rare, brief A.L.S., Neil Armstrong, to the inside of a folding 8vo card, n.p. (Houston, Texas), n.d. (6th March 1970), to David Pine. The Apollo XI card features a printed statement and facsimile signatures of Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins to the front. Inside Armstrong has penned a brief note, in bold black ink, 'Dear David - Thanks for your letter & Merry Christmas. Best wishes for 1970. Neil Armstrong'. Accompanied by the original NASA envelope. Some light foxing and staining and minor age wear, particularly to the exterior of the card. Although brief, autograph letters of Armstrong of any length are extremely rare. G
