He was a member of the Imperial Fine Arts Academy and a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household. This painting depicts an imaginary Chinese mountain landscape in the mist, with a scholar and his attendant viewing at a waterfall. Light colors indicate spring time. Vertical compositions on narrow scale were characteristic for Tessai. The rather light colors depict a mild spring day in refined brushwork. Condition: The painting is in very good condition with usual signs of age and wear. Partly foxing and crease marks. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
